It always seems impossible until its done.
— Nelson Mandela

In no way comparable to the experiences of Nelson Mandela but, from our point of view, still seemingly impossible was our adventure to South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The combination of the unknown, the many hours of research into locations and lodges and the huge distances we had to travel, at some times made the journey seem improbable.  As I look back, through the blog posts, i can relive the wonderful experiences and memories of Africa that we now cherish and have a burning desire to return to. I hope through these recollections and images you can see a little of Africa through our eyes and I hope it will inspire you to travel to this most wonderful continent.

The stories and images from this experience are represented chronologically starting with South Africa and finishing with Namibia. Tap each image to view and read more.

Southern Africa is the southernmost region of the African continent, variably defined by geography or geopolitics. Within the region are numerous territories, including the Republic of South Africa; nowadays, the simpler term South Africa is generally reserved for the country in English.
