Where all the unloved machines go to await restoration
As part of the Pichi Richi Railway photoshoot I had the opportunity to ride from Quorn to Woolshed Flats in the observation section of the Flinders carriage. This is a wonderful old carriage built in the 1890's and is fitted out with a couch and comfy chairs to give you a comfortable ride and great views.
The Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society is a non-profit railway preservation society and operating museum formed in 1973. The society, managed and staffed by volunteer members, operates heritage steam and diesel trains on the restored 39 kilometre section of track between Quorn and Port Augusta in South Australia and I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to ride the rails and shoot some 360˚ panoramas and still shots of the trains and workshops.
