My first outing with the new Canon 5D Mark II to shoot a 4 node 360º Panorama tour of the Panasonic booth at the Photo Marketing Association "Imaging Technology Show 2009" held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre Darling Harbour.
Why is the background blurred?
When approached by Panasonic PMA approved the photography on the condition that you couldn't see/read the names of other booth exhibitors, a bit tricky when you are shooting 360 degrees. My solution was to apply a graduated blur to the whole image and strip back in only the Panasonic booth. The reason behind the graduated booth was to leave the amazing complexity of the roof still readable, so as you pan up the blur diminishes and it becomes clear again.
