Having been through the birth of digital imaging and the now ubiquitous internet, the proliferation of Artificial Intelligence in many software programs I use, like Adobe Photoshop, Topaz, Grammarly, and Chrome, amazes me. One of my favourite AI imaging platforms is Midjourney, a text-to-picture artificial intelligence (AI) service developed by an independent research lab of the same name. This is my first experience using a technique called “Face Swap”

In the hope of somehow unfettering myself of bits and pieces of art, photos, papers, toys and the general bric-a-brac of life I’ve collected over the years. I’ve been trying to clear out an old storage space I’ve been renting. The problem is I keep encountering things that remind me of the past and that I must stop to consider and ruminate on.

One such item is an old article from a 1985 Scanlines Journal published by the Broadcast Designers Association in America. I was on my way back from London to San Francisco after attending a development meeting to discuss new features for the Quantel Paint Box. Hard to believe this was 37 years ago!
