One of the fun aspects of travelling to new locations is finding unique and different places to stay. We are definitely not your big hotel chain kind of folk and we much prefer the unusual. In researching accommodation in Buenos Aires we came across the Moreno Hotel in the barrio San Telmo.
This charming hotel in an art nouveau style building, is in a great location, just a 6-minute walk from Plaza de Mayo metro station and 1 km from Casa Rosada, home of the presidential palace.

One of the most fascinating features of the hotel is the old metal cage elevator and the distinctive stained glass windows on each floor.
The hotel rooms are huge and ours had a small juliet balcony overlooking the Catholic Cathedral and the streets of San Telmo.
