In Base Project we will cover the following topics:

Normally, you would start a new Virtual Tour by generating a new Pano2VR project.

However, the RPGTV2025 Project contains many Custom Properties used to create highly customised Hotspots and other UI elements, along with skin variables that manage many of the project's features.

To take advantage of the RPGTV2024 features, a new Virtual Tour Project must be started by opening a “Base” Pano2VR project. In this case A1_BASE.(p2vr).

In this post, we will start with the A1_BASE.(p2vr) project file, create an output and review it.

After that, we will open the A2_BASE_DEMO.(p2vr) project file, create an output and review the demonstration nodes.

Finally, we will add the nodes from the A2_BASE_DEMO.(p2vr) project file containing the demonstration Hotspot Popups into the A1_BASE.(p2vr) project file.

The updated A1_BASE.(p2vr) project will be used to create a new CLEAN_START project where we will start building the new Virtual Tour.

A1_BASE

Double click the A1_BASE.(p2vr) file to open it.

Note: You may need to relink to files and folders.

Output the project.

Note: You will see a loading animation, and the first node will appear. There is a welcome hotspot that opens an information popup.

Save the project and close the project

Open the A2_BASE_DEMO.(p2vr) file

Note: You may need to relink to files and folders. This project contains 4 nodes with Hotspot Popup demonstrations: Galleries, 360, Linked Video, Info, Web & Pin, Audio and Custom Images.

Output the project.

You will see a loading animation, and the first node will appear.

The first node, “Galleries”, contains hotspots that open Responsive, Square, Landscape and Portrait Galleries.

The second node, “360, Linked Video, Info, Web & Pin”, contains hotspots that open 360˚ Video Popups, Videos from local, YouTube, and Vimeo sources, Websites, and Mouse-over Pins.

The third node, “Audio”, contains hotspots that have Audio Enabled and either show a seekbar or animated overlay.

The fourth node, “Custom Images”, has some examples of Custom Images and Hotspot Icons.

Save and close the project.

ADD THE DEMO PROJECT

Note: This example shows how to add an existing Pano2VR project to the Base project.

Note: It will only load the nodes and associated Hotspots, Audio (basically anything that can be seen in the List View) but no Skin or Edit Skin Configuration settings.

Open the A1_BASE.(p2vr) file.

Save it as B1_CLEAN_START.(p2vr)

We will add the nodes from the A2_BASE_DEMO.(p2vr) project file into the B1_CLEAN_START.(p2vr) project file.

Right-click in the Tour Browser window and select “Add Project” from the popup menu.

Select A2_BASE_DEMO.(p2vr) and click Open

Note: This will add the nodes and associated List View elements from the A2_BASE_DEMO project into the B1_CLEAN_START.(p2vr) project.

Note: The next steps will be to remove the second “Loading” node and replacing the Number 1 with a new panorama.

Select the “Loading” node, right click and from the dropdown menu select “Remove Panorama from Tour”. When you see the warning message, click “Yes.”

Select the “Number 1” node, open the Properties - Panorama panel and the “Panorama” tab.

Click on the “File” folder icon

Navigate to PROJECT_ASSETS > Panoramas

Select the “Street Food.jpg” file and click Open

Note: to enable the new panorama with the Previous/Next buttons we need to add a tag to the node.

With the panorama selected open the Properties - User Data panel and the “Panorama” tab.Scroll down and open the Tags panel

Click on the dropdown menu and select “prevnext”

Note: As the A1 Base didn’t have Previous Next buttons active we will need to update the Edit Skin Configuration settings.

Click on the Edit Skin Configuration button to open the window

Scroll down to -[GENERAL SETTINGS]- and set the following attributes:

  • Previous Next Buttons [ Desktop ]: = checked

  • Previous Next Buttons [ Desktop ]: = checked

  • Previous Next Buttons - Reference Tag: = prevnext

Click OK to save the settings.

In the Project User Data > Title: change A1 Base to B1 Clean Start.

Open the List View and delete the Point Hotspot.

Click on the Output Folder icon.

Select the B_CLEAN_START_OUTPUT folder and click Open.

Save the Project.

In the next post, A Clean Start, we will use B1_CLEAN_START.(p2vr) project and examine the project’s setup and configuration in more detail.
